Computer Technician 

A computer technician's job focuses on fixing software, operating system and hardware issues that customers face. This role requires knowing the details about how software and hardware function, along with an ability to provide good customer service. This also include troubleshooting activities. They have to ask the customers different questions about the installed computer systems, and they run diagnostic software, handle software security updates and they reassemble computers when needed. You need to have strong customer service and listening skills to understand a customer's problem so that you can help them, even when they are frustrated. Problem solving skills are very important in here as they help you to figure out exactly what is causing the complicated hardware and software issues.

Network Technician

Networks are there to enable communication between customers and business. These networks are built and supported by network technicians. They also provide technical support for applications and personal computers to end users. This position is a basic entry level job. You can say that it is the first step to become a network engineer. They normally handle preliminary troubleshooting on network connectivity and performance problems. They have to familiar with the company’s network design in order to provide timely resolution to network problems. A Network technician should have better communication skills in order communicate clearly with network engineers and end users. They should have also good writing skills in order to do documentation activities. Documentation will help to save time when there is an issue and its solution at the same place. when expanding the network this documentation will help.

Network Manager

Main tasks of a Network manager are gathering all information about network and generating reports to company director board and providing theoretical plans and solutions for network admins. Network managers establish and maintain voice and data networks. A network manager is responsible for providing services to a single building, for multiple LANs connecting several buildings or in a WAN. The Network manager need to find the technological requirements and provide investment plan for creating above types of connections. The manager supervises the installation, which involves communication equipment programming, with products such as switches and routers. 

Network Administrator

This is the person who is responsible for keeping organization’s computer network up-to-date and make sure it runs smoothly. Designing and planning the network, setting up network, maintaining network, expanding network are the main responsibilities of a network administrator. A network admin should be well organized to provide support and should be able to identify future problems and be prepare at the present time. A network administrator has to work with different people in a company, so he/she should have good interpersonal skills to do that. 

Main Responsibilities of a Network Administrator

Designing the Network

Network administrator should be able to identify organizational current needs and future needs and design the network correctly. To do that he/she has to talk with employees and with other persons within the company. Then identify their needs and expectations correctly. Then design network according a given budget range. 

Setting up the Network

Now the network admin should set up and configure the network. This process consists with installing hardware and configuring servers, databases, routers etc. this process should be done more carefully.

Maintaining the Network

Adding new host machines to the network, administering network security, administering network services such as NFSTM services, name services, and electronic mail, Troubleshooting network problems are the main responsibilities of network administrator has under the network maintain process.

Expanding the Network

With the growth of a Company, it will need more services for increased network users.  The Network administrator should have a pre prepared solution for this issue. Setting up a new network and connect with old network, upgrading current hardware, or use virtualization facilities or any other solution may help to overcome this issue. However, Network admin should have an idea to overcome this problem with minimum affect to the productivity.
